Daryeel was officially founded in Garowe, the capital of Puntland, by a group of Puntland women elites, youth, and elders with diverse skills, professional backgrounds, and educational experiences, both within and outside the country. The decision to establish this organization was made after witnessing the urgent need for assistance in various areas, including healthcare, education, community building, relief, and development. They recognized the potential of the current young generation and their capabilities to address these needs.
Daryeel is an independent, non-governmental, non-profit, and non-political organization. Its headquarters is located in Garowe, the capital city of Puntland, Somalia. Daryeel's primary goal is to revive and promote high-value services in Somalia while working towards its objectives, which include peacebuilding through the expansion of employment opportunities in the war-torn country. According to its strategic plan, Daryeel strives to enhance the quality of healthcare, education, and training for the Somali community across all priority sectors. This involves creating opportunities for underprivileged individuals, empowering youth and women, and promoting the development of the water, health, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) sectors.
Daryeel aims to establish various centers and institutions dedicated to serving the community. These include a Center for Health Research and Studies, a Center for Community Service, a Center for Water and Environment, a Center for Women's Development, and a Healthcare Center. These centers and institutions will play crucial roles in conducting research, providing community services, addressing water and environmental issues, empowering women, and delivering healthcare services to meet the needs of the Somali community.
